Othello is a strategy game played on an 8x8 board where the goal is to have the majority of your color discs facing up by the end of the match. To start, players place four discs in a central square formation, alternating colors. On your turn, you must place a disc on an empty space so that it "outflanks" one or more of your opponent's discs, meaning your pieces must form a continuous straight line, horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, around the opponent's pieces. Once outflanked, all of the opponent's discs in that line are flipped to your color. If a player cannot make a move that traps at least one enemy disc, they must pass their turn, and the game concludes once the board is full or neither player can move.
